This vintage Audemars Piguet Volante is a refined example of the maison’s shaped dress watch production, featuring a distinctive 31mm x 37mm 18k rose gold ellipse case made by Wenger. The watch reflects Audemars Piguet’s mid-century focus on elegant precious-metal case design, slim proportions, and high-grade manually wound movements. It features a cream dial with applied gold baton hour markers, gold baton hands, and a small seconds register at 6 o’clock. Inside is a manual-wind movemen emphasizing the quality and refinement expected from vintage Audemars Piguet dress watches.
The watch is in overall nice vintage condition. The 18k gold case presents well with age-appropriate wear. The dial shows signs of age, including patina on the hands and indices and light marks, and may have been refinished or reprinted at some point. The acrylic crystal also shows light marks. The watch features its original Audemars Piguet buckle and is currently fitted to a leather strap. The watch is running, but given its vintage nature, timekeeping accuracy and long-term performance are not guaranteed.
